Three inediti by Alberto Bertoni (2020)

Nel dormiveglia

Tu cosa dici?

Sono più di dieci
o meno
le volte che mi sono
buttato a terra senza ritegno
e quelle che dal vivo ho visto
correre o giocare qualche
fuoriclasse vero?

**

Domande assurde

e sparse
da dormiveglia spinto
fino al delirio
oltre il terreno
acido dei volti
e dei corpi ormai allo stremo
esangui lontani estranei
a ogni parola che squadri
gli animi informi
nostri e loro
di quelli che furono compagni
maestri padri
e oggi siamo noi stessi
patrioti e padroni di queste
alzheimeriane sorti

Roccaforti dai tetti sfondati dai
diroccati androni

 **

Voli

Ape o calabrone
io resto immobile
come se ad assediarmi col suo volo
accappatoio e collo
fosse stato un mitologico mostro
e non questo minuscolo aviatore autoctono
stamattina appena fuori
dal gabbiotto della doccia
avvolto da una toppa
acida di sole
dopo la pioggia torrenziale di stanotte
e le finestre feritoie dove
i gerani del terrazzo
esplosi in mille petali
sfarfalleggiano senza direzione
naufraghi anche loro arresi
al verde amazzonico di fronte
oltre la riva che i nostri antenati
non passavano
servi della gleba condannati al bacio
sulla spalla
e narratori di respiro corto
alla fine della storia e della sedia
quando bianca baluginava un’alba
d’inedia e mare calmo

Two poems by Laura Corraducci

(inedito)

ogni sbaglio lo farò cantare insieme all’acqua
e nel fango della riva immergerò le mani
io ho imparato ad abitare l’incertezza
a vedere la grazia immutata che si compie
nello schianto che fa il cuore quando frana

from  “ Il passo dell’obbedienza”  (Moretti e Vitali, 2020)

Two poems by Rossella M. Riccobono

from States of Mind and Love (2008)

Ireland-bound

Yellow patches of burnt corn
triangular, oblong,
amid infinite stretches
of ripening green maize fields.
Mazing networks of canals
and then large shining dazzling
obliterating
the mirror of the lagoon.
I am incinerated.

A fizzing sparkler.
Happy birthday Gianluca and Hannah.
It's June, my anniversaries' month.
A heavy wave of memories submerges me.

Life vest is under your seat.

Spring 1978

Snow is late this year. We nearly
cried when April came and winter clothes
got shut out in mothy wardrobes.
My new spring jacket shines
checkers of white and red,
eyes dazzled through fields of ice.
I am sitting in the front seat, next to Dad,
where I like to be. I'm queen,
just for a few more days.
Crunchy steps. Snowballs.
Frozen hands and butt. Frosty ears.
Warm heart. Careful climb of the stairs.
Finally we are there:
eyes dazzle by yet more light.
Unravelling corridors, stench of sleep,
I rub the meths out of my eyes,
the iced-up shrills of joy out of my ears.
Mum has lost weight. School was good today.
We have chicken legs coming out of our ears.
When are you coming home? Being queen
is tiring: it involves housework too.

What's the news?
It was five this morning.
'Il Mattino. page one, X-nine columns,
Edizione straordinaria,
MORO ASSASSINATO.'

I get shown a new parcel, or throw myself
on it. An Easter present, soft toy.
It moves, it yells.
All babies are the same baby,
but this one is mine.
9 May 1978: in my memory
an ordinary day wrapped up in white.
